In order to make sure people are safe on the roads and to curb impaired driving, the Tennessee Highway Patrol has set up various sobriety checkpoints throughout the state in January.
The THP has five dates where they will be setting up checkpoints.
Two are in Knox County:
- January 12 – State Highway 62 (Oak Ridge Hwy) at Karns Valley Road
- January 26 – Northshore Dr., west of Concord Rd.
The other three are around East TN in Sevier County on January 5th and Campbell and Monroe counties on January 19th. You can see the specific checkpoints here.
State troopers will be conducting sobriety tests for alcohol and/or drugs.
