People who live in Knoxville already know what a great city it is to live and we were just recognized as one of the best places in the whole country.
The website, Livability, listed the “Top 100 Best Places to Live in the U.S.” using various measures such as a city’s economy, housing and cost of living, amenities, transportation, environment, safety, education and health. Then, they gave each city a “quality of life” score.
Knoxville made the list and in a summary said,
Strangers ain’t come down from Rocky Top, and it’s easy to see why. Knoxville’s affordability, close proximity to the Great Smoky Mountains, calendar full of festivals and friendly community make it a dynamic, welcoming city.
Livability recognizes Knoxville for its beauty, all the outdoor activities people can partake in, quality education, and opportunities for young professionals. Overall, the city was given a score of 695/1000 for “quality of life.” It ranked high for cost of living, transportation, and environment.
Knoxville was the only city in East TN to make the list. Franklin and Murfreesboro were the other Tennessee cities considered as one of the best places to live.
