Walmart has been accused of over-charging customers who bought weighted groceries, and to avoid a trial, the company has agreed to a $45 million settlement that you could be entitled to.

USA Today reports that any customer who purchased weighted items between Oct. 19, 2018 and Jan. 19, 2024 qualify for the settlement money. Weighted goods include meat and seafood products and “bagged citrus” refers to organic oranges, grapefruit, naval oranges and tangerines sold in bulk in mesh or plastic bags.

You have until June 5th to submit a claim to receive payment. If you have receipts that show proof of purchase you can get up to $500 back.  Walmart has steps on how you can search for previous receipts that way you can provide proof. Even if you don’t have any receipts you still have a chance to get $10-$25 back.

A final hearing is scheduled for June 12th so payments will be made after that if the settlement is approved.
