Every year people look forward to former President Obama releasing his playlist. He’s a man who has musical taste that spans across several genres so its nice to see a little bit of something for everyone who appreciates music.
Obama shared his favorite songs of 2023 on his X page on Friday morning. It unveiled an eclectic set made up of 28 songs, with lots of love shown for African artists like “Water” by Tyla, “Sittin on Top of the World” by Burna Boy and Tems (“Me & U”).
Victoria Monet’s “On My Mama” makes an appearance as well. Monet who has come out of the shadows of song-writing, in 2023, and proven she holds her own as a solo artist. Monet is the second-most nominated person at the Grammy’s in February.
The playlist also includes the Latin hit “TKG” from Shakira and Karol G, a country collaboration between Zach Bryan and Kasey Musgraves (“I Remember Everything”), and some songs from various indie artists.
