In case you need to get a hold of Dolly, don’t think about texting her and getting a response back.
Dolly Parton appeared on Monday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show and admitted that she prefers sending a fax over text message. The 77-year-old described herself as a “low-tech girl in a high-tech world.” So what’s her reasoning for not texting? To put it bluntly,
“I don’t want to talk to everybody that wants to talk to me.”
Instead, Dolly has her staff fax her messages. In a 2022 interview, Miley Cyrus told Seth Myers that she mostly communicates with her godmother through fax. Someone will scan Dolly’s fax and then they put it into a text message and hit send.
That surely seems like a lot of avenues just to have a simple conversation with someone, but if it’s Dolly Parton you’re communicating with, you do what you gotta do.
However, if you call her, she’ll call you back when she can because Ms. Dolly has way too much going on to “clutter” up her mind.
