‘Coraline’ Makes $4.91 Million Over 2 Days In Theaters

The theatrical re-release of LAIKA’s 2009 animated dark fantasy film “Coraline” has been such a success that more dates are being added.  Fathom Events held screenings over the past two nights for a 4K remaster of the film, with those screenings pulling in $4.91 million at the U.S. domestic box office.  In fact, on those two days, it came in third at the box office behind only “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” and first in per screen average on both of those days with over $3,000 per screen.  As a result, new dates have been added, with the re-release being played again on Monday, August 28th, and Tuesday, August 29th. “Coraline” is reportedly Fathom’s biggest classic movie of all time and their second highest-grossing title for 2023.
