In a sad update to a story that started gaining attention on Monday morning, it has been confirmed that a body that washed ashore on Venice Beach this morning was that of former WWE wrestler, Shad Gaspard. Gaspard was at the beach with his family on Sunday and while swimming with his 10 year-old son, witnesses say they were caught in a current with other swimmers. When lifeguards attempted to help Gaspard, he directed them to help his son, which they did, and shortly after another current pulled him under and he had been missing since Sunday afternoon.

His body washed ashore this morning near the area he went missing and it was confirmed a short time later that it was Gaspard. Before the body was found, his wife released a statement on Instagram, yesterday.
He gave his life, in order to make sure that his son lived. That is the definition of a parent, condolences to Shad’s family and friends.
