One of the worst/stomach-dropping feelings is when you realized you sent a text to the wrong person, especially if it’s something not so innocent. I can only imagine what this person felt when they realized they accidentally texted someone in law enforcement.
A cop with the Gulfport Police Department in Mississippi, shared screenshots of a text message he got from a wrong number which started off with someone saying “yo.” He decided to go along with it and eventually the texter asked “wanna smoke?” That’s when things took a funny turn replying that he probably wouldn’t be able to do that. The person on the other end didn’t understand saying “bruh we smoke all the time.”
The police officer tried to let him know he had the wrong number but the eager smoker wasn’t buying it telling him to “stop cappin.” So the officer snapped a selfie and sent it along with him holding up his badge.
The police department shared the screenshots on their Facebook page giving people some solid advice:
Before you send the text, double-check the number.
Another piece of advice is to text sober because there’s a good chance this guy was too high to even realize he texted the wrong number lol.
Kudos to the cop for having a sense of humor with the whole thing.
In case you’re wondering, assuming the “gas” this texter was referring to is weed, it’s only legal in Mississippi for medical use.
