‘Safe Exchange Zones’ Set Up in Knoxville

We live in a world now where it is so common to meet up with an online stranger to buy or sell items, but that obviously comes with risks. With the holiday season here, and more people expected to do this, the Knoxville Police Department has set up “safe exchange zones” to ease the mind of those going to meet with a stranger.

KPD made the announcement on their Facebook page saying that these safe zones are located in the front lot of the Public Safety Complex building. The area is well lit and has 24-hour video surveillance.

Residents wanting to utilize the space will not need to notify the KPD. Residents simply need to park in one of the designated spaces and complete their exchange.

It’s also a good place for parents to do kid exchanges for custody situations.

The Public Safety Complex is located at 1650 Huron Street.
