The famous home of the Brady Bunch has a new owner.
HGTV bought the Los Angeles property in 2018 for $3.5 million for their “A Very Brady Renovation” series and then listed it for $5.5 million. They just sold the home on Monday (9/11) but took an L on it as it was sold for only $3.2 million.
The 5-bed, 5-bath house was sold to Tina Trahan, the wife of an ex-HBO executive, who’s also a home collector.
HGTV spent $2M on renovating the inside to completely replicate what the Brady’s home looked like in the series, so it is a complete time warp, but I’m assuming that’s why it sold for much cheaper. While it’s cool to see it looking like the show, who actually wants to live in a home that’s straight out of the 60s/70s?!
Trahan even admitted in an interview that she doesn’t plan to live there but only host parties at the house. Even though she technically got a deal, she went as far as calling it “the worst investment ever.”
