If you thought you saw the last of Joe Exotic, you thought wrong… Variety, announced today that a new television series, Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild, will be produced and shopped by CBS Television Studios and Imagine Television. They also announced that Academy Award winning actor, Nicholas Cage will play the Tiger King in the series. The eight episode series will center around how Joe Schreibvogel became Joe Exotic and lost himself to a character “of his creation.”
The Tiger King was an instant hit, with over 34 million viewers in ten days after it was released on Netflix on March 10th. You had to expect to see more content coming centered around Joe Exotic and Carol Baskin after numbers like that so brace yourself. No word on when the show will start filming with all of the uncertainty with COVID-19.
