Quavo has officially released his latest single, “Dope Boy Phone” featuring a posthumous verse from Takeoff, ‘from the vault.’

The Atlanta native shared the track, produced by Buttah Bless, which is reportedly one of numerous recordings from Takeoff’s vault. In 2023, Quavo told Rolling Stone that his nephew had at least 1,000 unreleased tracks he stored across eight cellphones. He said: “I want to keep his stuff very, very, very sacred right now. I’m just trying to get this fuel from above and this feeling from the sky … Something about Take’s verses right now is just like so ahead of his time. Every time, it’s like he just did it.”

Takeoff passed away at 28 years old back in 2022, just weeks after he and Quavo released their first collaborative album Only Built For Infinity Links. The Georgia rapper was fatally shot during a dispute outside of a bowling alley in downtown Houston.

Dope Boy Phone arrives weeks after Quavo dropped his collaboration with Lil Baby, “Legend,” as well as his previous single “Trappa Rappa;” he is also preparing to release his next solo album sometime this year.
