Downtown Knoxville is the first of several “First Friday Block Party” this Friday, on the 7th. It’ll take place on Gay Street, and will only be open to pedestrians.

The Arts and Culture Alliance will be holding an art exhibit and block party which will feature live music, more than 20 local artists and vendors, and a new exhibit for people to explore at The Emporium. The event is free for everyone to attend.

The block party is scheduled for 6p-9p, but the 100 block of Gay Street (between Jackson and Vine Ave.) will be blocked off from 4p-10p. Parking meters will be bagged starting at 2 p.m. so people know they need to move their cars.

“First Friday Block Party” is held the first Friday of every month. Get more info about the event here.
