An electric mini chopper, sold exclusively at Walmart, is being recalled after reports of lacerations.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says that during assembly, the chopper’s blade can unexpectedly start operating, or when it’s not enclosed in the container. Walmart received five reports from people that suffered deep cuts, including two who needed medical attention which required stitches. All of the reported injuries “occurred during assembly of the product or during cleaning/handling of the product.”
Mainstays Electric Mini Choppers were sold at Walmart stores and online from August 2022 to October 2023. Anyone who has this chopper at home is asked to stop using the product and return to Walmart for a refund. The model number of the chopper is MS14100094536S1, which can be located at the bottom of the clear bowl.
