I know what you’re thinking… “This makes no sense” or “this is dumb af” and that’s because both things are true.

A new bill was introduced by two lawmakers that are trying to make the sales of cold beer illegal in Tennessee. The bill states that any retailer or person that holds a beer permit will not be allowed to sell refrigerated or cold beer.

The goal of this bill would be to curb drinking and driving and crashes that result because of it. The thought is that people are more likely to drink behind the wheel when their beer is cold. Let me start off by saying, I DO NOT condone drinking and driving, however, people who drink and drive are going to do that regardless if their beverage is warm or cold. Hence making this bill irrelevant.

The bill is now headed to the committee where it will be debated amongst lawmakers and make any changes if needed. If it passes through the committee, then it will move on to a final vote. This means that the bill is one step closer to actually becoming a law.
