The Powerball jackpot has reached over $1 billion once again!

After no one hit the jackpot on Saturday (September 30), it’s now at $1.04 billion; the second time to go over a billion this year. Actually, it only took a few months to climb back up. On July 19th, a California resident won $1.08 billion. Since then, there have been 32 drawings in a row where the jackpot hasn’t been won.

Saturday’s game did produce several winners across the country ranging from $50,000 to $2 million, but there’s still a chance at BIG BUCKS.

The next drawing is tonight, Monday, October 2. This is the second largest Powerball Jackpot this year and, overall, 4th largest in game history. The largest ever was in 2022 for over $2B.

If someone does win tonight, they will be given the option to take the lump sum payout of $478.2 million. According to Powerball, the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. You have better odds of getting struck by lightning twice, becoming the president, and getting eaten by a shark.

In other lotto news, the Mega Millions jackpot is at $300 million with a drawing scheduled for Tuesday, 10/3. You may have a better chance since more people are vying for the billion-dollars.

Do you play the lottery regularly, or do you only buy tickets when there’s a large jackpot?
