Update: 5/17/2021:
It was announced yesterday on Instagram that Behind the Music is coming back to Paramount+ on July 29th, and the preview shows the following artists featured; J Lo, LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe & Ricky Martin. No word on when MTV Unplugged and YO! MTV Raps will be back on the streaming service.

If you turn on MTV today you’re probably only going to see Ridiculousness, Teen Mom OG and 16 and Pregnant reruns, but if you’re planning on subscribing to the new Paramount+ you’ll be getting some new versions of classic MTV shows; Behind the Music, MTV Unplugged and YO! MTV Raps. Viacom CBS’s President of Music, Bruce Gilmer, told Variety the following:
We are thrilled to re-invent some of our most storied and impactful music franchises, including ‘Behind the Music’ and ‘Yo! MTV Raps,’ for Paramount Plus. In addition, we will partner with some of the biggest names across the music industry to bring exclusive and unique content to the platform.
I’ve said for a long time that MTV could do so much music related content so I’m hyped that these shows are coming back!
