Congratulations are in order for Ms. Lauryn Hill, The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has released a new certifications and her 1998 GRAMMY Award winning Album of the Year, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, was officially certified Diamond (which means 10,000,000 copies sold). This makes her the first female rapper to get this honor, and she joins artists,albums like; Michael Jackson’s Thriller, Whitney Houston The Bodyguard Soundtrack, and Adele 21, to name a few. In a recent interview Hill was asked why she never put out a follow up album and she said because the label never asked. It’s almost crazy to think if her follow up would’ve been able to live up to ‘Miseducation’ of it it’s almost better that this one excellent album just lives on its own.
