It’s almost time for the students, whether in person or virtually, to go back to school in Knox County, and Knox County Mayor, Glenn Jacobs’, School Mania II, will have a little different format this year. The back to school celebration, will have a drive-thru format in order to comply to social distancing rules due to Covid-19. They will still give out 3,000 school supply bags to families in need this Monday (August 10th) from 3-6 p.m. at the Jacobs Building, at Chilhowee Park.

Gates open at 2:00 for families to line up, but distribution won’t start until 3:00. Here’s more info on when and where to go, from our media partner, WATE 6 On Your Side:

Cars will enter Chilhowee Park via 3500 Knoxville Zoo Drive and follow a one-way traffic flow to exit on Magnolia Avenue. A walk-up option will be available at the KAT bus stop located at the corner of Beaman Street and Magnolia Avenue, directly across from Perk City.
