Perdue Recalls Chicken Nuggets After Consumers Find Metal Wires in Some Packages

In a concerning development for consumers, Perdue Foods LLC has issued a voluntary recall of approximately 167,000 pounds of frozen chicken nuggets and tenders after reports surfaced of metal wire fragments being found in some packages that were distributed nationwide.

According to Perdue and the U.S. Agriculture Department’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, the recall covers select lots of three products: Perdue Breaded Chicken Tenders, Butcher Box Organic Chicken Breast Nuggets and Perdue Simply Smart Organics Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets.

The recall was initiated after several consumers reported finding small metal wire pieces in the chicken nuggets. Fortunately, no injuries or illnesses have been reported to date. Perdue has emphasized that the recall is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of its customers.

“We take food safety very seriously and are committed to providing our customers with products they can trust,” said a Perdue spokesperson.

“We are working closely with the FSIS to investigate how this contamination occurred and to prevent it from happening in the future.”
