Need to return a package but don’t have the time or feel like doing it yourself? Just call an Uber!

Starting today, 10/4, Uber is expanding its ‘Uber Connect’ package delivery service to include returns. For a flat fee of $5 ($3 for Uber One subscribers), a driver will return up to five packages to the post office, FedEx or UPS store. As a customer, you’ll be able to choose the drop-off location directly from the app. All you have to do is make sure the packages are sealed with proper postage before they’re picked up.

Uber Connect was launched in 2020 during the pandemic as a same-day delivery and courier service.

Since most people do their shopping online now, return packages have gone up. According to the National Retail Federation (per AP News),

16.5% of online shopping sales were returned in 2022, or $212 billion worth of merchandise.

What do you use Uber for?  How often do you use delivery apps vs. just taking care of it yourself?
