The Weeknd’s Series ‘The Idol’ In Talks To Debut At Cannes Film Festival
On Wednesday, March 8, Variety revealed that the Abel Tesfaye-led series would premiere at Cannes. The 33-year-old artist attended the Cannes Film Festival in the past and hopes the show premieres there, according to a source. Even though Cannes is primarily a film festival, TV shows like “Twin Peaks: The Return” and “Top of the Lake: China Doll” have been shown there. While “The Idol” has received a lot of press, there has yet to be a release date announced for the HBO series.
