Michael Jackson Estate Nearing Music-Catalog Sale Worth $800-$900 Million
The Michael Jackson estate is nearly finalizing a legendary deal for the King of Pop’s music catalog. According to a source, the family isn’t willing to sell Michael’s entire catalog, but they are eager to take a 50/50 deal. The deal is estimated to be in the $800 to $900 million range, including recordings, publishing rights, and more. Right now, Sony is in talks with the estate for a deal that could easily be the biggest ever.
If the deal goes through, it would mark the biggest catalog deal to date. Sony previously acquired Bruce Springsteen’s publishing and recorded-music catalogs for around $600 million.
