Today in 1968 James Todd Smith was born. Ladies Love Cool James turns 53 years old today. He signed to Def Jam in 1984 and his recorded 13 studio albums. He entered the Billboard chart for the first time in 1985. He has two Grammys, one for Mama Said Knock You Out and Hey Lover. LL has also appeared in a number of films including Deep Blue Sea, Any Given Sunday, Halloween H20 S.W.A.T. and currently plays NCIS Special Agent Sam Hanna in the CBS crime drama television series NCIS: Los Angeles. LL Cool J also is the host of Lip Sync Battle on Paramount Network.
