Sam Adams Giving $1,000 Grants to Unemployed Restaurant, Bar Employees

The coronavirus has had a huge impact on the hospitality industry, as many bars and restaurants have had to shut down, or only offer takeout and delivery to help with social distancing guidelines. Well, Samuel Adams is doing their part to help those workers who aren’t able to work due to COVID-19. They’ve teamed up with The Greg Hill Foundation to create the Restaurant Strong Fund, which will help employees from the service industry who are struggling right now with a $1,000 grant. Samuel Adams kicked it off by donating $2 million to start the fund, with almost another million being raised, bringing the current total to $2.7 million.

Currently this is only available in 20 states, and the requirements are to fill out an application, have been employed at the same location at least three months, work 30+ hours per week (can be at multiple resturants) and worked at a bar, cafe or club in the following states:

  • Arizona
  • California
  • Connecticut
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Illinois
  • Maine
  • Massachusetts
  • Michigan
  • New Hampshire
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • North Carolina
  • Ohio
  • Pennsylvania
  •  Rhode Island
  • South Carolina
  • Tennessee
  • Texas
  • Vermont

If you meet those qualifications, you can apply for the grant on the RestaurantStrong website, or if you are able to donate to the fund, you can here.
